Reasons for migration are mostly due to work, family, or study. Refugees, however, are forced to leave their country due to e.g., political conflicts or disasters and are highly vulnerable.

This paper surveys our understanding of how migration affects growth and inequality through the impact on migrants themselves as well as on the destination and origin countries.
